 What’s Interview Day?

Interview Day is a one-day optometric job fair for Canadian optometrists, Waterloo School of Optometry class of 2017, Canadian students studying in US programs, International Optometric Bridging Program (IOBP) students, and optometric associations/networks (DEN, OSI, FYi, Vision Source, and CAO). Current optometrists will be able to find new associates and new graduates can find a place to associate with!

  1. Who can participate?
    Waterloo School of Optometry class of 2017, Canadian students studying in US Schools, International Optometric Bridging Program (IOBP) students can participate and apply to jobs. Canadian optometrists, clinic managers and representatives from optometric associations/networks (DEN, OSI, FYi, Vision Source, and CAO) are welcome to interview candidates.

  2. How does Interview Day work?
    Graduates
    You will sign up for set time-slots to interview with participating doctors prior to Interview Day. The resume you submitted during registration will be sent to the doctors to be reviewed. The day of, you interview!

    – Doctors
    We will forward you your interview schedule and resumes of the prospective interviewees before Interview Day to review. The day of, relax and just be ready to interview with the graduates that have signed up to see you!

  3. What if I can’t attend the event?
    For optometrists, feel free to visit our Classifieds page to post a job posting. Graduates will view your posting and contact you individually.

  4. I am a student and I would like to know the geographical locations of the practices to decide whether I should participate in this event. If I do submit my application and the available locations are not where I wish to practice, is my application fee refundable?
    Currently we are still accepting applications of hiring optometrists. Therefore the locations of all available practices is unknown until closer to the date of interview date; however, we encourage you to still apply! Unfortunately no refunds will be issued if there are no locations that appeal to you.
